Exhaust Air Heat Pump – Qvantum QE FAQs

Exhaust Air Heat Pump – Qvantum QE FAQs
How does the Qvantum QE exhaust air heat pump work?

It draws warm, stale air from kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms, recovers the heat, and uses it to provide heating and hot water. The cooled exhaust air—up to 30 °C lower than room temperature—is then vented outside. In summer, the system can switch to cooling mode for year-round comfort.

Do I still need ventilation with this system?

Yes. The Qvantum QE can work with simple trickle vents or an optional QS supply air unit, which filters, pre-warms, and ducts fresh air into each habitable room for improved air quality and comfort.

What makes the Qvantum QE more efficient than a standard heat pump?

Instead of relying on fluctuating outdoor temperatures, it uses indoor air at a stable room temperature, maintaining efficiency even in the coldest months.

Is it environmentally friendly?
Absolutely! It uses R290 refrigerant with a low GWP and eliminates CO2 emissions compared to gas and oil boilers, making it a greener choice.
Can it replace my current heating system?

In many properties up to 180 m², the Qvantum QE can fully replace a traditional boiler, delivering heating, hot water, ventilation, and cooling from one compact system.

Is it compatible with renewable energy or smart controls?
Yes. The QE features Qvantum’s Flexready® technology, allowing it to store heat when electricity prices are low and use it later. It also works with smart controls to reduce running costs and carbon emissions.
